Invisalign® and traditional braces are both dental techniques used to correct your bite. Both of them are excellent options for teeth alignment and other issues.
Invisalign
The Invisalign system is based on clear aligners . A digital impression is taken using the Itero ; when your specific retainers are ready, you come to our office and pick them up. These retainers are worn for approximately two weeks and then changed to new ones.
You switch retainers to slowly shift your teeth into position. The Invisalign system is great because these aligners are invisible and can be taken off when eating or brushing your teeth. For a majority of our patients, it takes about 6 to 12 months for a complete treatment to get the result you want. If you’re looking for an aesthetically pleasing way to shift your teeth, then Invisalign is an excellent choice.
Traditional Braces
Braces are used for many teeth corrections. They are made of metal wire and are glued to the teeth to remain in place. The braces are placed to exert constant pressure on your teeth that shift them over time to the correct place.
Braces are worn anywhere from 1 to 3 years before being removed. Everyone’s dental needs are different, and timeframes can vary . Braces are great for treating comlex dental issues that need to be corrected.
What’s Right For You?
Invisalign and braces are both reliable and proven ways to align your teeth. However, deciding between the two depends on your specific needs. If you’re concerned about how your teeth look while wearing braces, you may be interested in Invisalign. Complicated, severe corrections will require metal braces.
