These last 2 years were an unprecedented time with the COVID-19 pandemic foremost on our minds. Due to the increase in cases, many patients not only avoided venturing out for school or travel, but they also stopped coming to their preventive medical and dental examinations. Unfortunately, this means that many patients are behind on their dental health needs. Whether you missed your dental cleanings or are in need of a treatment appointment following your own COVID-19 experience, Dr. Lenny Slepchik can offer recommendations for preparing for your first appointment with us.
What to expect during your appointment
Dr. Lenny Slepchik and his team have been taking COVID-19 precautions very seriously. While we always sanitized, disinfected, and worn personal protective equipment, or PPE, we have increased our cleaning routines. We are focused on meeting the CDA and Order of Dentists guidelines that are used for controlling infectious diseases, while also maintaining a focus on our patient. We limit the number of patients in our waiting room and practice areas, and sanitize each room extensively between each patient. Our team is also wearing PPE including masks, gloves, and eye protection for each patient. We also ask that patients prescreen before attending their appointment, rescheduling their visit if they are experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or having been recently exposed to someone with a positive COVID-19 test. In addition, we have added Dyson air filtration systems in each operatory to ensure everyone’s safety.
We also encourage patients to make sure that their paperwork and patient forms are up-to-date and current. This includes any changes in contact information, dental coverage, or one’s health history. If it has been a while since the last appointment, we also encourage patients to come approximately 15 minutes earlier to their appointment to doublecheck their paperwork and make changes as needed. Patients can expect the same level of care during their cleaning and checkup as they experienced before the pandemic.
