Even though Canada has such diverse and beautiful scenery, it’s safe to say that we also have some of the longest and coldest winters around— or at least, that’s how it feels anyway. If you are heading somewhere a lot warmer for spring vacation, Dr. Slepchik has created a list of a few things that you can do for your teeth both before you go and while you’re on vacation.
Visit Dr. Slepchik Before Leaving
You should visit the dentist at least every six months on average. If you are due for your dental cleaning, come into see Dr. Slepchik before you head out of town. That way you can rest and relax on your vacation even more just knowing that you don’t have any cavities or other oral issues
Drink More Water
If you are the type of person who drinks more wine, beer, alcohol, and coffee when you’re on vacation, then try switching things up and drinking more water instead. Drinking more water while you’re travelling won’t just help you avoid dehydration, but it’s also much easier on your teeth. Because coffee, tea, soda, and wine can stain your teeth or even weaken your enamel, they aren’t doing your teeth any favours. But, when you switch to water, you can help avoid potential problems later on down the line and increase your mouth’s saliva production which will help you fight off cavities and bacteria.
