When patients visit Dr. Slepchik’s office and learn what Invisalign® can do for them, they often have many questions during their consultation appointment. They want to know how long it takes to achieve results and how many hours each day are needed to wear their trays.
How Long Do I Need To Wear My Invisalign® Trays for Complete Treatment?
The time you need to wear your Invisalign® trays varies depending on your specific case. It takes approximately 12-18 months for most patients to complete their Invisalign® treatment. However, some patients may require either a shorter or longer period of time to achieve their desired results. During your initial consultation, Dr. Slepchik will be able to give you a better idea of how long you can expect the process to take.
How Long Should I Wear My Invisalign® Trays Each Day?
You change your aligners every 2 weeks for new ones as your teeth move gradually into their proper position. You must wear your trays for 20-22 hours every day to get all the benefits and maintain your effective treatment plan.
Are There Any Special Instructions I Should Follow With My Invisalign® Trays?
Take proper care of your aligners to remain effective throughout your treatment. Clean your aligners daily using either a denture cleaning solution or a soft-bristled toothbrush and lukewarm water. Additionally, avoid eating or drinking (except for water) while wearing the trays, as food particles can become stuck in the aligners, which could lead to staining or discolouration. Remember to brush your teeth before putting on your trays to ensure that there are no food particles on the tray or between your teeth.
Following these instructions will help you get the most out of your Invisalign® treatment and ensure your teeth stay healthy and clean throughout the process ! It is also very important to keep to your dental cleaning schedule with your hygienist during your Invisalign treatment.
